Senior Merchandiser / Account Executive

Position Description:

This position will be responsible for the buying and help in the creation of all aspects of developing collections that embody the Gitman brand, client and overall experience and are expected to embody creativity and agility as the brand continuously evolves.  The candidate will also be responsible to help to achieve financial goals by developing and executing clear strategies, exhibiting leadership and influence while demonstrating operational excellence and managing Sales to select accounts.


  • Merchandise (25%) Develop fabric offerings by analyzing and making recommendations on how to drive the business based on sales, history and market trends. Also plan and allocate strategic management of PO entry for all divisions, monitor piece goods inventory control, costing, mill liaison, and QC of samples, new models, production.


  • Purchasing (25%) Develop a balanced order entry and buying schedule that includes of all piece goods and monitoring their delivery schedules for Gitman Vintage, E-Commerce, MTO, In-Stock and all Special projects.  Cross referencing master order spread sheets, open order reports, order submission reports and fabric demand reports to determine what is needed to fulfill customer needs.


  • Project Management (10%) Oversee the execution and overseeing of numerous personalized projects for Gitman Brothers, Gitman Vintage and E-commerce while also curating exclusive lines for specific clients. 


  • Sales (40%) Actively participate in all aspects of from the logistics of trade-show set-up and follow-up, to account monitoring, growing businesses, opening new business and working exclusively with key accounts 


  • Two years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Must be based in New York City or willing and able to relocate without relocation compensation
